Foundation

Stories of donations

The foundation makes a difference in the lives of residents, veterans, families and others we serve in the local community. It helps bridge the gap between what Medicare and Medicaid pay and the actual cost of care.

Grateful Hearts

Hundreds of our employees help tend to the needs of our residents, from making meals to maintaining their homes to providing care and support. Our staff are dedicated and serve our residents patients day in and day out. Our Grateful Hearts program is another way to give back to the community with a testimonial for the care you've been given. Sometimes when people feel grateful for their care they also make a donation to the Staff Appreciation Fund through the Grateful Hearts program. Because of gracious gifts, staff receive special meals, treats, flowers, snacks, Christmas gifts, gift cards, etc. Our staff are the heroes of our organization.

Gifts that impact us everyday

Our foundation also raises money to buy life-saving devices such as defibrillators. These are then placed around campus for everyone’s benefit. Another gift we received were iPods for residents to use during our Music and Memory Program.

The Grove at The Marquardt

There was a need for a new space that could accommodate special events, entertainment, concerts, guest speakers, workshops and worship services. Because of our gracious donors, we were able to purchase audio-visual equipment, assistive hearing devices, worship supplies, chairs, tables, lectern and a cross.

Library and Sensory Room at Lutheran Homes and Health Services

Because of generous donors, we were able to create a library for our residents. The library provides books for residents to borrow or a place to quietly read and relax. We also received a donation to place TVs in all of our lounges for residents to watch movies and shows.

Shining Star Program

Our employees have the opportunity to be a ‘Shining Star’ and give back to our foundation and help residents and their families.

We’re sincerely grateful for your contributions. Everything we do is made possible through the generosity of donors like you. With the growing population of older adults, the foundation is more important than ever. Thank you.
