At Illuminus, we recognize that it is our staff; our “People”, who truly illuminate the way to deliver the highest quality of care to all we serve, and to foster a culture of community. The Illuminus Institute began in 2018 with a focus on creating an innovative and robust new hire orientation and onboarding program.  The Institute has since added State Approved Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) training to its offerings.  Future offerings intended include CNA Training, Career Laddering, Education Scholarships, Leadership Training, and other empowerment and engagement growth and development opportunities.

Orientation process

  •  Day 1: Welcome to Illuminus and introduction to all of our communities. We will discuss how we got started and explore the multitude of career opportunities at Illuminus.

  • Day 2: On day 2, we go over our employee handbook, employee benefits and protecting our residents.

  • Day 3: We explain what our foundation does for our communities and workplace ethics. 

  • Day 4: We discuss the importance of patience, kindness and customer service in the senior living industry.

  • Day 5: On the last day of orientation, you will tour your community and meet with your manager. You will also meet other staff and departments you’ll interact with on a day-to-day basis.

Director of Learning and Development

The focus of the Director of Learning and Development is to support the Clinical Development Coordinator and Professional Development Coordinator and all essentials within the Education Institute. This position assesses training needs throughout the organization and develops learning opportunities in order to meet these needs, in collaboration with staff from our communities and service lines.  Trainings could include: New Hire Orientation, Leadership, Mentorship, Social/Emotional Training opportunities, and other non-clinical training needs that arise. This position partners with the Clinical Development Coordinator and Professional Development Coordinator to support the growth and learning of all our staff.

Clinical Development Coordinators

The focus of the Clinical Development Coordinators is to support growth opportunities for our clinical staff through the Education Institute.  This position assesses the clinical training needs throughout the organization and develops learning opportunities in order to meet these needs, in collaboration with clinical staff from our communities and service lines.  Trainings could include: Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) training, Fall Prevention and Safe Transfers, CNA and RN Skills Fairs, and other clinical training needs that arise. While the priority is to support clinical staff, this position partners with the Director of Learning and Development and Professional Development Coordinator to support the growth and learning of all our staff.

Professional Development Coordinator

The focus of the Professional Development Coordinator is to support growth opportunities for our non-clinical staff through the Education Institute. This position assesses the non-clinical training needs throughout the organization and develops learning opportunities in order to meet these needs, in collaboration with staff from our communities and service lines. Trainings could include: New Hire Orientation, Leadership, Mentorship, Social/Emotional Training opportunities, and other non-clinical training needs that arise. While the priority is to support non-clinical staff, this position partners with the Director of Learning and Development and Clinical Development Coordinator to support the growth and learning of all our staff.
